The Going Solo Website Exists!
Here we are. I’ve finally imported the blog posts I initially wrote on CTTS into this blog and the Going Far one. It wasn’t too difficult to decide which post went where.
I still need to clean up, add some static content, fool with the sidebar, polish the design once the logo arrives — but at least the site is there, with its own personal URL, and you can feel free to link to it. Actually, please link to it. Announce Going Solo on your blog. We’ll have badges you can display in your posts or sidebars shortly.

Great. I’m gonna link it.
But something you should do would be to suppress the old posts in CTTS, or use the wonderful redirect plugin. Google does not like duplicate content, and in that case, Going Solo will suffer, as being the small newbie.
Actually, I start to have an idea in how you could use my “hours”… a little bit SEO 🙂

Thanks for the comment. I know Google doesn’t like duplicate content — I’m not sure to what extent, though (I mean, how bad is it)?
I’m in principle dead against removing stuff that has already been online for some time, and the practice of cross-posting is not, to my knowledge, something I’ve heard described as Very Bad (TM).
Do you know exactly how badly Google penalises duplicate content?

It means that the duplicate content (the newest or the one with the lowest page rank) will not show up in good place in the Serp. Even not show up at all.
In the current case, with your two new websites duplicating content, I would say “that’s bad”.
Launching your website, you have a kind of “prime de fraicheur” for a few week. Don’t spoil it.
And normally, you don’t remove it : you redirect permanently.
The rest will be private consulting by mail 🙂
